I've been living in a one bedroom, 695 square foot apt. here and my rent is $1135. YES that is too much for the size of the apt. However, since I've been there the maintenance staff has been above my expectations and truly do get to your problem within a day or two. I haven't had a single mouse/roach/or ant since I've lived here.
Yes the fitness center is a little cramped but good if three or even four people are using it at once. The apt grounds are kept emaculate and I never have a problem getting packages since the postal service always leaves me a pink or beige reminder in my mailbox that the office received it.
Yes, BGE is ridiculous!!!, I rarely keep any electricity/heat on at all since I'm not home much and my monthly bill is $150 on budget billing. The rental office staff is polite and very accomadating and I never had a problem with them within my year and a half living there. I believe that they do have to re-do some insulation for these apt. since they get very cold inside during the winter. Yes, I seen the kids who set the grass on fire and now I no longer see any random events of arson or burgulary since that event. For convenience, there is a montgomery county police station within one block walking distance along with a bus terminal to take you into downtown Silver Spring area with metro to DC, movie theatre, Panera Bread, Macaroni Grill, WHole Foods, Borders, etc. There are places to buy and fix cars on Automobile Dr. as well as a mediocre shopping center on Outlet Dr. with a Safeway, Ross, Auto Center, Wendy's, Cluck U and Chuck E'Cheeses.
The apt complex makes you pay a relatively small move in fee because the rent iis high enough as it is. You have ten instead of the normal five days to make a rent payment without being charged extra. Also, if you have a good history with them like I do, they are even willing to bend that rule for one or two days later without penalty. You have to pay for apt insurance which is about $137 for the whole year. The apt comes with a walk in closet, large enough pantry for stocking food, washer/dryer compartment in its own room, fireplace, kitchen area with strobe lighting, up-to-date appliances, a balcony with outside closet and a very nice size bathroom with linen closet. Everytime someone comes to my apt. they are impressed with the area in general as well as how the grounds are maintaned. Now I admit I was disappointed with the filfty tub that I had to clean out when I first moved in but that's the only horror story I have to tell. Also, don't forget they have Hampton Point directly across the street that is their competitor but doesn't have a fitness center for its own residents (so I wonder where do they go''', lol).
