Not your best bet...

Management has changed quite regularly over the past few years. Prices have steadily gone up but with no added services or amenities. Appliances are very dated, including the AC Compressors/Heat Pumps (which makes for an expensive utility bill). Most of the normal staff is perfectly nice and responsive...although the head lady is quite out of touch with reality. My biggest problem is that we live VERY close to a block of section 8 (HUD subsidized) housing, and the crime rate is bad and steadily increasing. Take a look at http://www.crimereports.com/map/index/'search= Fairland MD to see what I mean... be sure to turn on all the crime layers. Trash pickup is sometimes a problem with the dumpsters sitting at over 100% capacity for a couple of days. Apartments seem to now be filling up with groups of 3/4/5/6 construction workers etc. ... not the most family-friendly trend.
Along with the AC/Heat thing I mentioned above, walls seem to be poorly insulated, and apparently the ceilings/floors between apartments are the same because you can hear absolutely everything that your neighbors do above you. Just wait until they vacuum.
