In my opinion it's worth the extra few dollars to find an apartment complex whose managment can solve issues and the has the mantainence respond in a timely manner the first time you ask. I was attracted to the low price, but the walls and floors are very thin. Some of the tenants can't seem to put the trash "in" the trash cans. The water is constantly being shut off for "repairs." Etc., etc. Also, demand to see the apartment for rent. I moved in sight unseen. Big mistake. I have never experienced, but there are occasionally isses with seedly folks lurking. All in all, if it's too good to be true, it usually is! Good luck
