My family and I moved to Suburban Hill about 6 months ago. We made the biggest mistake ever by moving sight unseen. We were in a rush and we didn't know much about the area since we were relocating from NJ.

Needless to say we were impressed initially. Then about two days later, we encountered a serious pest (i.e. roach) problem. It was ridiculous! Despite the attentiveness of the staff, my husband and I had to combat the issue ourselves investing money in numerous methods to eliminate the problem. It wasn't easy since we have a two year old son that is everywhere!

For the last three months we have seen a major decline in the roaches but I saw a small one the other day and I wonder if it is a problem inherent to the complex. It could possibly be the area since I have read other reviews of complexes around here and they all mention roaches.

I must agree the residents are nice. The apartments are spacious but can be noisy and I doubt having rugs as they require helps much. The area is accessible to a lot of things although it's a bit too populated for my taste. Since we are here until my husband finishes school we will probably stay but if it was a permanent move I would definitely look elsewhere.

This is a large building built in 1954 and, like most large, older buildings, it has roaches. But, I've also heard some residents need a visit from the television show "How Clean is Your House" since they live in the kind of squalor that attracts such vermin. It's regularly exterminated, though you might want to know how your neighbors are living to determine the source of the problem.
