I honestly can't say enough good things about Suburban Hill. If I weren't moving out of the area, I would definitely still be living here.
It all starts with the amazingly friendly staff. From Robert, Cindy, and Charlie in the office to Inez and David and the rest of the crew in maintenance, you just feel as though everyone here truly considers it their job to make sure that your time here is as good as it can be. Whenever there were any issues, the staff would respond immediately and adequately and would make things right the very first time. David never ceased to amaze me with all of the things that he can do.
I NEVER had a problem finding parking, no matter what time or day I got home.
When I first moved in, the neighbors were generally pretty quiet, but this has gotten even better over the last two plus years. I never hear my neighbors on either side or above me. I definitely get a good night's sleep.
They do a good job keeping the grounds looking tidy. While there isn't anything that you can do to the overall building, which screams of the 70s, the grounds are always properly maintained to make sure that everything looks as good as it can.
There are automatic outside lights that come on when approaching the door to ensure that you can safely approach when entering the building. Nice touch!
The new digital A/C units work remarkably well. Though I am generally a pretty hot person, I never have to worry when inside as the A/C does its job and does it well.
The layout is great, as it definitly feels quite spacious. I have thousands of books and despite the plethora of bookshelves needed, it still never felt cramped in any way (even with the kid's toys everwhere).
This is truly a gem on the PG/Mongomery County border. This would be a GREAT place for anyone going to UMD (the commute is only 7 minutes or so by car).
Again, while one can't do anything about the age of the building, the staff more than make up for it by being truly amazing.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
