Bed Bugs!

Yes, bed bugs. After living in the apartment for a few months, my signifigant other and I starting getting mosquito-like bites all over our bodies during the night. It turned out to be bed bugs! To their credit, as soon as I did my own investigation and found the culprit, they had exterminators come almost immediately and handle the problem. I still could not sleep at night and had to move out early- which they did not help me with at all. The bed bugs undoubtedly came from this apartment complex because no one living in my apartment had traveled or spent the night outside our apartment and we had not had this situation at our previous apartment.
Also, the parking situation was alright, if there are only 2 people living in your apartment. We rented a 3-bedroom place and had 3 people living there who owned a car. And they still refused to give us 3 parking passes! A little unreasonable.
Make sure you're 100% ok with living without a dishwasher before moving in!

| We take any kind of infestation, bed bug or otherwise, very seriously, and eradicate the problem when we find them. The incident about which this tenant is referring happened because the apartment beneath theirs had a bed bug infestation, of which we were unaware. As part of standard procedure, when an apartment is found to have bed bugs, we have the exterminators inspect the surrounding apartments to see if any of them have an infestation. When the apartment beneath theirs was inspected, the exterminators found that it was the likely source of the infestation. We immediately scheduled treatment of both apartments. Bed bugs are an increasing problem. While they had been nearly eliminated as a problem in the U.S. by the use of DDT a generation ago, they are on the increase again. We hate them as much as anyone and work diligently to eradicate them when we find them. As we said above, we take any kind of infestation, bed bug or otherwise, very seriously, and do our best to eradicate the problem as soon as we find them. In addition, we have professional exterminators scheduled to come to the building regularly. They inspect each apartment at least twice a year and treat them with a bait system for roaches even if nothing is found. We are very sorry for this infestation but suggest that if other apartment complexes are honest they would acknowledge that they too have occasional infestations. Our approach isn???t perfect and we continue to work to improve it. | |
