I have a one-bedroom apartment on the bottom floor, which is plenty roomy for one person, with a walk-in closet in the large bedroom and a separate dining room.

There are occasionally noises from the people upstairs, but it doesn't really bother me. There are lots of outside noises (music, talking) when the weather is warm. The pool never opened. The staff is very polite and considerate in person, but the memos can be a bit harsh. I guess some people don't follow the rules too well.

I'm not the cleanest person in the world, despite my best efforts, but there really aren't that many bugs at all. A few spiders and smallish bugs in the summer. I definitely haven't noticed anything resembling a cockroach.

The location was my primary attraction to the place. There's a bus stop for the Q2 and Y7/8/9 lines right across the Toys R Us parking lot, and the Wheaton Metro is a 10-15 minute walk. There's a mall complex with everything you need across the street from the Metro.

My biggest concern moving in was security, as there really is none, apart from the locks on your door. But the neighborhood is pretty safe and friendly. The area is undergoing revitalization. New luxury townhouses have sprung up and the mall just finished up a big expansion.

The appliances are all new and work great. There are always available machines in the laundry room, and they're in good repair. There are occasional cracks, scuffs, and stains; this isn't the newest apartment building ever, but overall it's attractive and very nice for me, a single person right out of college.
