I think some of the other reviews have been harsh, but there are problems...

My husband and I moved in about 2 years ago. Overall, I like the complex. The apt. is in decent condition, the rent is fair, and there are nice perks. (Swimming pool, free gym, washer/dryer in unit, dishwasher...) We have not dealt with bugs or mice much... small ant problem briefly that was taken care of quickly. But we are on the 2nd floor.
That having been said, we have put up with a lot of crap from the management. Lots of things have broken... the fridge had to be fixed. The toilet they eventually had to replace. The dryer ahd to be replaced and it took several months during which time we received no rent discount. We were have problems with climate control, so the first winter they taped up our windows. The second winter they decided the problem had a different ssolution... shave the bottom of our door and promised new windows. It took seven months for the windows, and in the process of coming back repeatedly they managed to lock my cat in one of the bedrooms separated from her food and litter. Of course I was getting married at the time and had a ton of bridal stuff in there that luckily she didn't destroy, but she did poop all over the place because what was she supposed to do' They also don't always give warning when they come in to your apt. Management also has a policy that says rent is due on the first. After the 5th, you must pay with cashiers check or money order, and after the 10th it's late. So, my husband gets paid on the 7th, and that's when we have paid our rent every month. I was thrilled the day I came home to find a court summons for rent that had already been paid! However, for the most part our neighbors have been ok. In the garden styles it's nice becuase the walls are very thick and we almost never hear anyone in other apts. For the most part a quiet neighborhood, and I have felt pretty safe there... I did see a domestic disturbance outside once, but that could happen anywhere... As for parking, people who are complaining about it are crazy. The parking is plentiful. The fact is yes, they give you a sticker, but they tell you when you move in that the nice thing is that when people visit they can park wherever they can find a space, they just don't want people doing it everyday who do not live there. I love this feature... it makes having company so much more conveninet. Overall, not the best, certainly issues, but not the worst either. Management must learn to be more responsive... Oooh, and check the carpet of your unit before you move in. Some of them are really nice, but ours is pretty crappy...
