You really have got to be kidding me. I have read all of these other post and I just cannot believe my ears. To think that because someone has lived here for so many years and not went crazy is beyond me. First, I have lived at Ashton Heights for only 6 months and I am leaving. The mice are absolutely terrible here and I don't know how anyone can live with mice. Trust me when I say that the mice are terrible, they are terrible. I saw a few roaches but these are something that you can get rid of. The maintinence suck. When I call them they come when they want to. When I first moved in there was a bad storm one night and the ceiling was falling down(seriously), I called the rental office the next day and told them about it and they told me it was from the rain. I live on the 9th floor and there are 16 floors, how could it possiblt come from the rain. Anyway they sent the guy to fix it because I had to put a bucket there to catch it and he came and looked at it and said he would be right back and he hasn't come back yet. The tenant right below me play's his music so loud it sounds like its me playing. The weed smell is terrible and the security are extra bad. I have come down plenty of times and the guy was sleep at the guards desk. There was a lot more stuff I could put on but, but I am running out time. The most important thing is the mice, and I don't mean mouse here and there. I mean MICE. Oh I forgot that there are terrible car break-ins.

I agree with everything you said. I lived there with my uncle on the 16th floor for about 6 months. The elevators are the absolute worst that I've ever seen. The cameras are not recording. My uncle's door was vandalized and they claimed "the cameras weren't recording that day". The so called security is laughable, they do get high and hang out infront of the building. There has been multiple rapes reported just in the six months I was there. The rental office lies so much. There are break ins all of the time without forced entry. I'm sorry you're stuck in that lease.

Okayinlife, you seem very pleased with your experience here and seem to blame the intial submitter's unhappiness to their location. If i may, what building or section of Ashton Height's complex do you live?
I am currently apartment hunting and would like to have an identical experience to yours.
Thanks!

I live on the twelfth floor and have the friendliest peaceful neighbors. We all live in the same building however. Ashton Heights is one tall building with sixteen floors. Your floor and who you live near makes the difference. I feel safe taking my four year old son outside honestly. I mean, I really do not have the issues that this person is having. It amazes me. Like I said, the elevators...yeah those can blow you from time to time. ( Especially when you're in a rush ). But I am satisfied with my living experience thus far. I have now lived at Ashton Heights for four months. Just always follow your gut feeling when apartment hunting. If an apartment doesn't feel right to me, anything at all, I don't do it because I have a child to consider. Ashton Heights, I felt completely opposite. I am happy that I moved here. I really am.

To the first response there is many things that go on here but multiple rapes is not one of them and I have been here for 4yrs...I have never experienced mice or roaches because I am clean, and how I keep my place is what matters, to clear the matter up with the guards, no I dont care for their attitudes but I have never experienced them during drugs and it's good that you hide behind being anonymous because to repeat something you heard and not know it for yourself is slanderous. Now maybe you and the other young lady are having issues because it was not what you thought it would be for you. But there is are no real problems with this building since they have changed over management in the last two years. They have done preventive maintenance in order to keep the mice out because of the reconstruction of the property, the price has gone up but the comentaries and amenities are appreciated. If you are not happy break your lease and leave because we dont need more people here like you. On the other hand if its too much and you cant pay your rent dont bad mouth this building especially if you are not happy...

I lived in this building for a few years and roaches were not a function of how clean your unit was. Think of it - no matter how much you clean, if the hallways/stairways are filthy & the trash chutes on your floor are backing up you will have roaches and they don't knock - they move from unit to unit. When I lived there, the building did not do regular, comprehensive pest control throughout the building in all of the units so roaches were an ongoing problem. I knew of several people who experienced break-ins and there was no damage to the locks so some suspected the staff. Check the police reports for this address before you move here and stop by the building at various times - after 9/10pm on a Fri./Sat., before 8 am during the week when the kids are around and right after the kids get home from school.
