It wasn't too bad

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2005
I lived at Carriage Hill for 4 years. It wasn't too bad it had it's good and bad moments. I must say I was very pleased with maintenance. I heard car theft was bad but it depends on which side you were on (I was in the back on the end). Someone got shot in the head and robbed in front of my building (but they were walking through the woods which is not a good idea). Some kids smashed a rock into my winshield. I was pretty pissed about that, Management didn't really do anything about it (but what could they do).
I liked that I was able to pay my rent by credit card and they allowed me to fax that in every month.
I didn't have a roach problem but it was something I saw every now and then (but then again I tupperware everything). Sometimes I did see waterbugs in my apartment but I notice it was a certain time of the year. They have a exterminator that comes once a week (think every Thursday) so if you call the office, they send the exterminator that Thursday.
I loved that the Metro came right into the complex and that it's across from the Naylord Rd. Metro maybe a 15-20 min walk (remember I was in the back).
The residents in the my building (3306) were pretty quiet, I didn't have any problems out of them. There's laudry room in each building which was always clean. The halways were always clean in my building but, I did hear horror stories of other buildings. I would suggest you pay your rent on time cause if you are late one month you are out. And they will put these bright neon color notices on your door. Sometimes I paid the D*** (15 days late) and they still put the crap on my door after it's paid.
The staff was alway really nice and friendly whenever I would go to the office.
They always had little gifts for the kids around Christmas and Back to school. That was kinda cool. Oh if you get a garden apartment, request for your balcony to be in the back overlooking Suitland Parkway. It was so peaceful back there and I didn't see a bunch of kids running around. At night I could open the windows and hear cars driving by in the distance and the metro train go by (it was relaxing to me).
Parkings was ok on the side where I was but on holidays stay at someone elses house cause the lot is so full. I had to drive around the complex for an hour on Memorial holiday weekend looking for a spot.
I had to move cause the rent kept going up every year and it became too much. I started at $680 and ended at $815. Now it's more for a one bedroom.
