HORRIBLE. Apartments are HUGE with a washer and dryer thats how they bait you in. The grounds are immaculate. Rent was $775 for a 2 bedroom when I first moved around there. Now rent is $1085 for a 2 bedroom and going up as high as $1,185-1,385. All the apartments leak. I have lived in 3 different buildings on three different floors. I had to take Bradford Place, Hickory Place, and Verona of Silver Hill to Landlord and Tenant Court. The ceilings leak when it rains, they finally put a new roof on my building because I called the Housing Authority Inspectors and took them to court. The maintenance is HORRIBLE. They NEVER come fix anything unless you call somebody on them to make them come do it. Or you withold their rent money. But they want you to pay your rent on time whether they repair the problems or not. My toilet broke it would not flush it took them FOUR days to come and fix it. This happened on more than one occasion. The only reason they came to fix it was because I called the Health Department on them. Then they had the nerve to leave me a note saying it was too much tissue in the toilet. I am a female where else was I supposed to use the bathroom for the 4 days they took to come and fix the toilet' I am not a man I don't shake to dry myself. The floors are paper thin so if anyone lives over top of you you hear their every step, their music, their tv, their arguments. Now lets talk about the little drug dealers and thugs that gather at the gas station and outside the barbershop and sidewalk outside the property and refuse to move. Or the ones that gather on the property and sit on your front steps. The multiple killings and rapes that have occurred on the premises. Then what makes it bad this is one of the better places to live in Suitland that is Metro acessible for someone that is not driving. You can't park in front of your building unless your vehicle registration matches your lease address. Half the people living there are related to the rental staff. The pool is so dirty I have never swam in it. They have put my rent money in other peoples accounts. They have fired several staff members and property managers over the years for stealing rent money. One property managers drug dealing boyfriend was charged with distribution for selling weed on the property. My girlfriend lives in the building in front and told me they now have mice so it is only a matter of time before the rest of the tenants get them.If you have not signed a lease with them PLEASE don't. They keep changing management but it does not get better and rent continues to go up. Maintenance sucks, rental staff only cares about rent money, the only benefit is your apartment which is the size of it as long as you don't need anything fixed. Currently I have a refrigerator that needs to be replaced, tile on my kitchen floor that needs to be replaced, the hall light in my building is out, the bathroom tile is falling off, black mold that never goes away no matter how hard you scrub with bleach, Tilex, Comet. The black mold seems to be a feature in all their apartments. But they don't tell you any of this when you sign your lease. I had to call Washington Gas about a gas leak in my unit from a stove that was leaking Gas. Only when Washington Gas served them a notice that the unit was unfit to live in due to a gas leak did they come give me a new stove. The wall is cracking and lifting all around the shower head. My lease is up in January I am already looking to get out. The sad part is this is the norm for most of the properties in Suitland, Forestville, area. They charge an arm and a leg for rent and it is like you are living over in SE the difference is I pay way more in rent and should not have to live like this. They are evicting people left and right and people are moving out because they can't afford the rent. So the tenants left are being given outrageous rent hikes. They just asked me to renew my lease 13 months with a $100 increase in rent. Yeah right I can rent a duplex or condo for that and get my moneys worth.

You are absolutely correct in everthing you said. I just got the heck away from there myself, I just couldn't take it anymore. You couldn't get nothing fixed! I lived in the front and when I first saw a mouse in my apartment I almost went crazy. All they do is bring glue traps. When the exterminator came and moved my stove there were about 4 mice on the glue trap, I was like heck no! The final straw was when my air conditioner went out and they never came to fix it. I tell you what if you don't pay your rent on time they have no problem showing up to your door then to put them bright pink sheets of paper on your door. I don't know when the thugs made their way back, but in front of the building I lived in, it was non stop everyday. They wouldn't move when you came home from work, tobacco from blunts and trash was all in the hallway the floors were disgusting. I don't believe they had an cleaning crew, if they did they didn't service the building I lived in. Please take this posters advice RUN AS FAR AS YOU CAN FROM THE VERONA!

I TOTALLY AGREE THE WALLS ARE THIN AS HELL, IT TOOK ME ABOUT 3 MONTHS TO STOP THINKING THAT THE PEOPLE UP STAIRS WERE IN MY APARTMENT. ANYTHING IN THE DAMN APARTMENT WILL NEED TO BE REPAIR BEFORE THE LEASE IS UP. THE FOYER CLOSET HAD A BAD LEAK AND MY HUSBAND STUFF WAS RUIN. THE COMPLEX HAS MORE VISTOR PARKING THAN RESIDENT PARKING. THE FEMALE WHO WORKS IN THE OFFICE IS UNPROFESSIONAL, RULE, AND GHETTO(WEARING SCARFS ON HER HEAD TO WORK). MY HUSBAND CAR WAS BROKEN INTO TWICE AND THEY SUPPOSE TO HAVE SECURITY.. LOL. HE SITS IN THAT TRUCK IN THE FRONT OF THE COMPLEX RIGHT NEXT TO THE MAILBOXES AND THATS ABOUT IT. PLEASE LISTEN UP YOU DO NOT WANT TO LIVE HERE ITS BIG BUT THATS IT.
