Don't Knock it Until You Try It!

Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2009
This is my third time living at Sussex Square. The first was 16 years, second 2 years, and now I ve just recently moved in again. The property has maintained it s splendor since having lived her 28 years ago, with much improvements to the beautification of the property. I have nothing but good things to say about the complex and the staff. After viewing some of the angry comments it didn t deter me from giving Sussex Square yet another try. After living at complex which I shall remain nameless for 12 years, this place is Heaven. The good thing about renting is that we always have options; there is no need to stay in a place in which you are dissatisfied with the property or the staff simply move; which is what I did from. Using this forum to complain doesn t solve a thing; enact an approach that will get the job done. I realized that I can t change people or the complex but I can definitely change my living environment. And keep in mind that Ms. Evette and Ms. Cora as servicing an entire complex, which leads to dealing with a diverse group of people, socially and economically; which can be tough. When is the last time a resident showed the staff their gratitude, a kind gesture goes a long way. When I first moved in my initial request for repairs were not completed, but I followed up and the next day EVERYTHING was completed. Sometimes we drop the ball, nothing incompetent or unprofessional about that, we re human. We as residence have to do our part. When you see trash by the trash dumpster, pick it up! Kids loitering in the hallways or loud noise call the police then report it the rental office; see something suspicious don t look the other way call the police after all it could be you being victimized. As far as cars being broken into, well that is just the day and time we are living it, you ll find that wherever you live. I ve heard of cars being stolen or broken into from driveways of people s homes, so come on, can you fault the complex for that. And if you are a resident who is parking of the street, well that doesn t make too much sense. Bottom line is that residents have to take pride in were they live, and the community has to ban together. If you want to live where you don t have to depend on people adhering to your request, stop renting and try ownership. Check out some of the properties in Prince George County that have put millions of dollars in to renovations. Why' Because the property has been neglected, which in my mindset is not a good things, it shows the decline in service among the staff. Sussex Square does not neglect its property or residence, the residence neglect to do there part. I implore you to do you research about JBG, the company doesn t slouch when it comes to its property or tenants, residential or commercial. They have a lot of Class A properties which speak volumes. Lastly, GET RENTER S INSURANCE! The complex is not responsible for the contents of your apartment, just the structure; also, it s the law! The only complaint I have is that Sussex Square doesn t make its residents provide proof of insurance prior to renting and doing a cursory check yearly. You can get renter s insurance that will pay actual cash value (no depreciation) for around $130 a year, which is about $10.84 a month.
