I am one step away from contacting a Tenant Association

I am very disappointed in the maintence department, and the leasing office (since they control the maintence department). They smile in your face and take your complaints but dodge and hide and never resolve your concerns or complaints. The most they will do is send out warning letters. You will get a notice if rent is late, promptly. They take more interest in the outside than they do the inside and just this past month the grass wasn't cut for 3 1/2 weeks. My apartment has mold and the hallway hasn't been mopped since January. Apartments have been robbed by maintence and my heating unit was installed improperly. There is no ventilation in the bathrooms. Even with parking stickers parking is a nightmare. Overall, I really don't feel safe and can't wait to leave.

What is it about the complex that makes you feel unsafe? I have visited the complex and will be moving in at the end of the month. I picked this complex because it is gated and because of the two bathrooms. However, I am concerned about shady maintenance men also since I've been burned in the past. I plan on changing my locks as soon as I move in. Is it just the possibility of maintenance coming into your apartment that makes you feel unsafe or is the complex unsafe? Is there a problem with cars being stolen or vandalized? What about tenants being attacked in the parking lot? Have you heard anything like that? I have lived in other complexes in Suitland and know it is a high crime area.

I have some of the same questions for you. I live alone and it is imperative that I find a safe place to live. Is there a lot of loitering on the premises? Are there loud, unruly tenants who DON'T get evicted? Is there a problem with vandalism, rape/sexual assault? Is it a safe place for small children to live? Thank you.

I would have you print out this responses and reviews and take them to the Managment Company; not necessarily the office on site. If the management company is a professional company and clearly wants the revenue from potentially good tenants than they would want to make sure that they are living up to their marketing projections by attracting the right type of tenants. Hey would any of them want to live in a place where they would have to worried about their safety and the living conditions of thier apartment. If they do wish to live in this manner why not take the necessary steps to properly managment their investment. It would appear that they want the revenue but do not want to take the necessary steps to keep it coming. People move when they are unhappy with the community. When they move the owners looses money.
