The upside of this building is that the rent is relatively cheap and the apartments are pretty large. The downsides, though, are many. The landlord isn't exactly invested in maintaining the buildling. If you complain loudly enough they will eventually do something but it's usually as little as possible. When we lived there, the ceiling in the basement leaked, leaving the washers and dryers sitting in a pool of water--danger! Of course, it's up to residents to notice these issues and notify maintenance; they're definitely not on site and certainly aren't proactive about checking the place and keeping it up. The hallways are grimy and even after requests for cleaning, maintenance only did half-hearted mopping not the kind of serious cleaning that the place desperately needs.

Additionally, our apartment had a real mold problem and, though we brought it to the attention of maintenance, they denied that it existed and did nothing more than wipe down the walls. We did have to call the maintenance "24-hour" phone number for a pressing issue at one point and got a response a couple days later.

The bottom line is that the location is great, the apartments are large but the maintenance is minimal and the cleanliness of the buildling is very poor. Don't go in with high expectations and be prepared to have to stay on top of maintenance if you choose to rent here.
