I have been living in The Maple View Apts. for over 3 years. I do believe that the resident manager and staff try to keep the property together. However, the tenants are not cooperative. For instance, management continues to request that the residents do not dispose of house furniture anywhere on the property. This includes mattresses, sofas, chairs, etc. Instead, call bulk. The "GHETTO" tenants continue to deposit their unwanted furniture on the property. The tenants spill liquids in the hallways and neglect to clean it up. The building is dirty in my opinion. The roaches are unbelievable. (in some units). My unit is not so bad. But if you don't like roaches, then don't move there. If you can deal with a little roach, then okay.
I think the property is liveable however, because management will fix your problems in a timely fashion, there are many nice tenants there who do care about the property, and Takoma Park is absolutley beautiful. There are many immigrants there but most of them have great family values but are nasty in housekeeping. Elementary/Middle schools in the area are great. Various diverse. I think that Takoma Park needs to clean up the "rift raft", crack down on the thugs that make the area look "Ghetto" and management needs to do some renovations to the buildings and stop letting just anyone move in.. Screen these people....
