Park Ritchie Apartments
AVERAGE RATING

We lived in the Park Ritchie for three years. It's pretty tough to find affordable rental housing for a family of 4 that's so close to DC and metro, so we stuck it out longer than we should have, really. The roaches were just terrible. It was a constant (and losing) battle from day one. We never wanted to have people over because the bugs were so embarrassing.
Also, there were always young guys lurking around outside of the market accross the street. It was pretty obvious that there was something illegal going on. Pretty sad considering that the police station was about a block away.
I loved Takoma Park, but that strip of highrise apartments on Maple is pretty dreary and you get the impression that the city really doesn't care about the people who live there.
The fact that buildings like Park Ritchie aren't required to deal with their bug problem is evidence of that, in my opinion.

Do you have any comments on the pool, exercise room and community grounds? Are there issues there too??
