I moved into the Parkview Towers because I was looking for a building close to Washington, DC, and downtown Takoma Park, that also offered low rents. But as I discovered, you get what you pay for. The Parkview Towers are infested with cockroaches. The building management does have an exterminator come through two or three times a year, but it never solved the problem. I lived in the building for 18 months. In addition, the management does not maintain the hallways and lobby. Because the building is poorly ventilated, cooking smells are a constant part of life at the Parkview Towers. The building manager was rarely in her office.



As I discovered, the building?s residents are mostly lower income workers and recent immigrants who, unfortunately, have little recourse but to put up with the roaches and the dingy common spaces.
