I am a current resident and this is the worst apartment community I ever lived in. I am in the process of moving out mid-lease. Anytime you have 5 vacant units in every building (continuous banging in the morning on my days off!!!) and management offering 2 months free rent you know something has got to be wrong. Besides the apparent roach problem, my kitchen and bathroom wasn't completed at move in. My bathroom had roach gel left from the previous resident, tile chipped, unfinished tub and one of the contractors took the first dump in my toilet, wiped his behind and left the rag behind in the tub. the lock on my balcony is broken and I was informed that there is no way to replace in and that this small metal stick was adequate enough. This is the most unbelievable experience that I have ever went through, especially paying $1088 a month. When your neighbor is running water in the bathroom you can hear it throughout your whole apartment, this is not normal is it' My cars have been towed on at least 3 separate occasions for non valid reasons. I have complained about my non working dishwasher and all other issues since Ive moved in and the only response I got was put it in writing which led to this comment. I could go on and on...SO beware of the spacious unit and walk in closet space you'll get a better response and maintenance service in S.E DC!

I must agree, it is the worst! I have lived here three years and am moving out this month thank the LORD!!!!!!! I have lived all over the dc metropolitan area and I can honestly say, the management takes no responsibility for anything. There is no accountability at all. They are all lazy and trifling and never do what they promise. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!

I knew this place sucked when they had to run a radio add. Maybe a developer will buy it and turn it into a luxury condo- current renters should have first dibbs of course.

Not ALL the current renters, Perplexednconfused. Some of them are part of the problem. Ur right about 93.9. Don't they have a phone number where U can call them when they are on air & ask them why they are putting their name on such a worthless property to promote it? Maybe if we help them see how they are making themselves look bad, they'll retract their promotion of Ashford.

number 1, everything stated by the initial complaintant are true, but let's look at benefits: Free condoms from the laundry room, stairway and storage room adjacent to laundry. If you dont mind the fact that they are used condoms, look at how much you can save on condoms if you moved to this complex If your kids take vocational ed in school, you will many opportunities to repair your car because some of the more ghetto tenants will sit on your hood and generally beat the crap out of your car. Your kids can further test their vocational education skills repairing anything from plumbing to drywall. For some reason there does not seem to be any actual repair men working at this complex. There is, no offense intended, one "maintenance" man who works there who wore an orange "timberland" sweater for about 1 1/2 years straight...as in erryday. Around 3 years ago he promised to fix my balconey door which would fall over because the mortar under, I would assme all of these doors, erodes over time and allows the sill to sink which in turn allows the balconey doors to fall out when they are opened. he appears to be the only repair person at the complex. If your kids are studying biology, there are so many roaches in the building, your child will be the envy of the biology teacher when you child can carry box after of roaches to the school lab for study and still have more roaches left over for additional study well into the next millinia. Free towing, if you need your car towed just make the mistake of just parking anywhere and before you know it mnagement will tow it away for no reason and will look at you like you are crazy when you ask for compensation for wasting your time. management honestly believes that if your car is towed in error, if you are not charged a towing fee, everything is ok...how about you tow the manager's car 25 miles away and tell her "it's ok, the towing is free!!" How about the cost of going to recover it? No, I am not making any of this up Daon't move here unless you like that kind of stuff.

oh yeah they towed my car too for parking in a "visitors" spot w/ a residential sticker! WTF!! i was 5 mo pregnant and PISSED!! i wrote "upper mgmt" and got my $100 back!
