I have lived in Gateway Square for 2 years. I moved out in 2001. Living on the bottom floor, I was not pleased with a lot of things. The plumbing is not great. In the kitchen, I had suds coming in the kitchen sink from the laundry mat. The ceiling in my kitchen came down once due to plumbing problems. Even my AC was leaking from the vents. My dishwasher was broken for over a year. They said they had to wait for the part to be shipped. Sometimes I would come home and my apartment would smell like the sewer outdoors. In the bathroom they have the sliding doors up for home improvement purposes. They were put in half way. One day after taking a bath, I noticed something really nasty. I don't know what the problem was. I noticed small black worms growing or finding their way under the sliding doors in the shower. I would scrub the bathroom completely, but they would always come back. I couldn't take it. Renovation should be required for some units.

The walls are sooo thin, you can hear you neighbor taking a bath or a shower.

Kids playing in the grass with no parent supervision, have broken my window twice.

My family comes to visit over night to wake up and notice their car was stolen. My car radio was stolen one night.

The Laundry mats smell like urine. Not enough access control. People can come in from other apartments or just from hanging out doors to do as they please. You could never find a parking space.

The neighborhood needs to have a policeman on constant patrol of the area. It?s tuning into little SE, DC.
