Iverson Towers / Anton House
AVERAGE RATING

Iverson Towers & Anton House is a place where you would go if you have no other place to go. The Community Manager Nikki Carey and her performance as Manager of Iverson Towers/Anton House is miserable. Many of the other residents that I have spoken to want to bring things to the attention of Management, however the repercussions are alittle too high for most of us to pay, loosing our homes. Since Nikki gives out 30-day notices to some like party gifts. Some for cause, some well, that s a whole other subject. The following are what we as residents have to put up with:
1. Inapt as a Manager
2. Very disrespectful to residents, who are not considered the Manager's favorites.
3. The Manager's customer service skills are non-existent.
4. The Manager has no idea about follow-up or follow-thru.
6. Maintenance is a joke, whatever she can't explain away is either dismissed or ignored, and after a certain amount of time she removes aged tickets from the system, rather than find out whether they have been completed or not.
7. When a resident wants to speak with The Manager regarding business or the properties she either dismisses them quickly, ignores them completely, or avoids them totally.
8. The Manager hasn t looked at the property and taken appropriate action. What I have noticed is:
Plaques missing from wall.
Ceiling leaking in the buildings
Security doors (joke) broken and left open for days and weeks at a time
Trash on grounds (even after the so-called Grounds man is done)
Washers and Dryers broken for weeks at a time
Elevators broken (open and close several times before moving)
Mailboxes broken
Children playing in the buildings and congregating.
Mice in the buildings.
Does Kay Management only care about the dollars and cents and not the quality of the properties it rents. Kay Management should and are suppose to be providing quality living according to your mottos, from Kay Management website. But they dont, not at Iverson Towers/Anton House. If you have a choice dont make it Iverson Towers.

I just wanted to post my response I dont normally read this site but was told by another resident to check it out. I also reside in 4301 and have so for over 10 years I sit in the lobby from time to time and here residents complain about things that are not being done and how good things use to be but what i dont hear them do is say how we as residents have to be held accountable for things we do. How can we hold the ladies in the office responsible for people holding open the front door, putting sticks, carpet and whatever else they can find constantly breaking the locks. As as far the elevators it is a machine machines brake down, why did you even move into a highrise. Come on people what it seems like we need to stop blaming the office and look at ourselves. As as far a Nikki being rude listening to some of you go on and on makes me thank God I dont manage this building. Sounds like a little hateration going on.

I live in building 4301 of the Iverson Towers Apartments, and have done so for just over two years, and I can say, some of the things listed in your posting are correct:
1. Yes, Nikki is a step up from the previous property manager; however, her behavior at times has been a bit rude; and there have been many times when the offices have been closed without prior warning, or you???re unable to reach any of the staff.
2. As for maintenance response times, there???s also room for improvement. It took nearly a month before the air filters in my apartment were changed, and was only done so after I removed one of the dirty filters and showed it to the management staff -- calls went unanswered. While it may seem like a small matter to some, having all of your belongings stationed in the middle of the floor for a month -- because the vents cannot be blocked or the filters will not be changed should maintenance staff decide to show-up! -- can be a bit of an inconvenience to say the least. But I will say these lags in response times have been due to short-staffing matters.
3. I have complained many times about the roller-rink above my head. Per the lease agreement, after X number of infractions, the person is supposed to be evicted; however, the party rages on without any repercussions. While I do not wish anyone to be thrown from their home, I do not feel I should be subjected to stomping, running and other such loud noises past 10 p.m.; and there have been times, during school vacations, when the noise has lasted until 2:00 a.m.
4. Also, the elevators are antiquated and have been broken on a number of occasions; and if you???re not humping the steps due to inoperable elevators, for months you had to step over the urine some happy tenant decided to leave behind.
5. Finally, the building does have security doors; however, they???re often propped open or people are allowed to freely enter the building ??? tenant or not ??? as is evidenced by the many fast food menus left on the doors nearly everyday.
Again, things have changed for the better during my two year stay; however, there remains room for improvement.

I have read responses & comments etc. I'm a witness and will stand up under oath to testify about the rudeness and unprofessionalism that I have experianced. Its time for me to ROLL. Before I have to repent and ask GOD for his forgiveness. I guess I got comfortable with paying rent with utilities included & you hope that 1 day it may just get better! Huh! What a dream!!I'm sorry to tell you it won't come true unless they get rid of everybody thats in that rental office AGAIN They need to bring Bruce, Tony & Kelly back if you could just deal with Bruce's attitude adleast everything will be fixed. I have to let you know if you don't already know that NICKI CAREY & NICOLE are both(ignorant, rude, nasty, unprofessional) & DOMINIQUE(who seems sweet, but is easily influenced by her 2 rude, arrogant & ignorant co-workers)the maintenance thats to busy sleeping around with tenants until they can't fix any problems in the apartments. Or I wonder do they really know how? I have placed several service calls for the same issues & guess what its still not fixed correctly!! The rental office is ghetto and like someone stated above they have a little click and if you don't kiss there behinds or tolerate there rudeness and nastiness then they want to find any reason to evict you or to not answer your service calls( A little 411 if your not paying for water watch your back because all new tenants have to pay for water, so they plan to get the people who they can get out so new tenants can come in paying water. Which will save them a lot of money because they wouldn't have to pay for the leaks that the buildings have been having for years, they want the tenants to pay for that now! Because they are to cheap to get into the wall and fix the pipes, but they may be scared of something else having to be fixed. They need to renovate all of the apartments! They also plan on selling the apartments thats why they are attemtping to fix them up which may be hard to believe. Kay management needs to put there employees in a mandatory customer service class. They tell you one thing and do another or nothing at all. They ingore you until you get the corporate office involved. Then they start getting petty. I mean the examples are mentioned above. I JUST HAVE SOME ADVICE: HAVE ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY BECAUSE THEY ARE ON A EVICTING SPREE!! WHICH IS A GOOD THING YOU REALLY DON'T WANT TO LIVE HERE FOR LONG! USE THIS AS A STEPPING STONE TO GET SOMETHNG BETTER! IF YOU CAN SAVE YOUR MONEY THEN SAVE IT & MOVE!! Because if they don't do somethong soon the MICE AND MOLD IS GOING TO TAKE OVER THE TOWERS!!

Thank you for your honesty. I am a mother of three and I was considering moving there becoause of the school being so close; but I am no longer going to do so. I've left one apartment complex because of the mice problem and am IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM trying to go back to that. As far as the rudeness and short staffness AKA lazyness of the maintenence team I think that consists everywhere in the Suitland; Temple Hills area.

I've lived in Iverson Towers since Ms. Donna Adams was the manager!! Ms. Adams was very good!! She was professional, she walked the hallways at night. She gave 30 day notices to persons that smoke weed in their apts. She did not tolerate running or writing in the hallways. We did not have mice because, she was on top of everything!! The maintenace at that time were on top of their jobs. The trash chutes did not back up, the yard was cleaned everyday and the trash cans outside were not piled up like they are now. Kelly and Tony were great maintenance men!! If you lived alone, and needed your stove moved, they would help you do that!! Things are not the same anymore! I do not understand why you have to pay for water now, Even if you lived here for 9 years and wanted to move to a smaller apartment, why should you have to pay for water??? Who ever took over when Mr. Kay died are just for the money. They do not care about the tenants. Robberies are up again. Ms. Adams got the bushes around the buildings removed because, people would hide in them to rob tenants. Now, there are more bushes, GREAT for the robbers!!!

I have been a resident at Kay Management/Iverson Towers since Aug. 2008 and regret moving here. Before I moved here I was told by a leasing specialist that my water bill will be no more then $30.00. When I received my 1st water bill it was 54.00 for only 14 days and from that point on it has been $100.00 a month. They are ripping people off and something has to be done about it. This is a time of recessions and they trying to get as much free money as possible to keep for themselves. If the water isn't paid they put a letter under the door threatening tenants to pay the bill or it's going to be deducted from out their rent. They are going to make it seem as if tenants paid their rent late and add all types of late fees. Some tenants are charged as much as $300.00 a month for water with only 2 occupants residing in there home. People have houses out here and don't pay monthly water bills that high. Most times people pay water bill every three months instead of on a monthly basis. I regret moving here and wouldn't recommend this management company or apartment complex to no one. The apartments are very old fashion and need to be upgraded ASAP. Not to mention the walls are paper thin and I can hear peoples conversation in the apartment below, above, and next door to me. These people are only about the money and not about making consumers happy. Don't move here because you will be paying an extremely high water bill. I know a couple that live in a 1 bedroom apartment and is charged a 99.00 a month for water...MONEY HUNGRY PEOPLE>>>
