Absolutely Awful

I have lived in approximately six different apartment/rental settings in my life so far, and I feel it my duty to report that the Colony at Kenilworth has been by FAR the worst experience ever. We had nothing but problems from the start. On our move-in day, we were greeted by a filthy, unpainted apartment with a broken toilet. Despite several attempts to retrieve it, we did not receive a copy of our lease until approximately a month after move in. The windows/door frames are so old and decrepit, a mesh bag would be more effective at keeping out bugs and keeping in cold/warm air. The air conditioning system must have been from the early 70s, and I am betting that at that time, it was still a cheap system. Basically, if you wanted any level of comfort in the apartment, the unit had to run continuously, resulting in a BGE bill (for a small 2-bedroom apartment, mind you) that was more than that of a full 3-bedroom house (roughly $200-250 a month). We contacted the management repeatedly about broken/malformed appliances, which resulted in approximately a 2-week wait for any service help to come, and when they did come, they basically looked at our freezer (whose interior was so malformed and melted I did not feel safe leaving food in there) and said "Oh, it's ok." We repeatedly had mouse and rat issues, neither of which were addressed immediately (it took about a month for someone to come and take care of it). Finally, parking is ridiculous. You receive one spot for two people. If someone parks in your spot, it is your responsibility to call the towing company (good luck reaching someone there). Please, do the world a favor and let this place realize its errors by not patronizing their business.
