UPDATED 12/28/08 - Opinion downgraded

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008
I'm not real pleased about the price of the place - I could have gotten a hell of a lot more space for the money I'm laying out - but the location isn't bad. No maintenance problems - they were fairly quick and efficient for the few problems there WERE (lighting fixtures in the bathroom, that's about all). Not at ALL pleased with the pet policy - you have to not only pay a pet fee when you move in, but apparently it's extra money per month to just have one in the first place - not a wise idea when there are cats free-roaming all over the property.
Updated 12/28/08: They recently installed new windows in my apartment and they've cracked my walls - there's wood splintered, the paint is peeling off, they've more or less ruined my bedroom. I am VERY upset.
I was told 1059 a month when I moved in here for a 2 bedroom apartment, but what they don't tell you is that they'll tack on charges for water, sewer, and anything else they think they can get away with. My latest rental statement says "unspecified charges" - uh, they'd best specify what those charges are before I pay it. I'm currently in talks with the rental office now about that very issue.
This IS a college-student complex. However, the local police are vigilant about the county noise ordinance - 24/7 - so if the parties get too loud, I call the police, simple as that. I've had to call 4 times in 4 months, but they ALWAYS shut it down and there's peace and quiet again. So I'm happy with that. Parking is great - assigned spaces - and if someone's in your spot, tow 'em!
Laundry rooms are okay, could use a bit of cleaning up but that's messy tenants, not lack of maintenance on management's part. Have noticed the main office is often closed when it shouldn't be, which isn't real convenient.
Haven't noticed any safety issues, but then I lived in the middle of Baltimore City, so I KNOW dangerous situations - most of these kids that live there wouldn't know danger if it crawled up their legs, so... take that as you will. I haven't seen any problems.
Overall... it's okay for the area, but I'd look around for something better. Pet owners, stay far away - you won't get treated decently here. Unfortunately since my original review, I've had to downgrade my opinion of this complex, and I WILL be leaving here as soon as my lease is up in July.
