I have lived in the Colony for 18 months, and I can not wait to move out. Not only do we have a horrible problem with mice, but we also have ants. We have mold in our kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom areas. The apartment is horribly insulated, and our BGE bills were constantly above $350 each month. The neighbors are obnoxious - all drunk college students. Our steps have been urinated on and vomited on. We have had multiple fights outside our apartment which led to blood all over our steps and door. The parking lot and lawn area is constantly littlered with beer cans, broken glass, and other trash. The residents are rude. When you write a work order, it takes weeks to have someone come take care of the problem. Parking is horrendous. I am absolutely embarrassed to call this place home.

Of course I called management. They responded to the issue weeks after I called them. They got rid of the mold in the bedroom area, but the mold in the bathroom and kitchen comes back weeks later. And we go through the process again.
However, thanks for assuming that I am just allowing myself to be surrounded by mold. The Colony is disgusting, but unfortunately I was financially tied into the place for a year and a half.

Ok seeing as how i live there and again will say for the record don't have any issues at the moment let me tell you what the maintenance staff told me and maybe you will understand better. I'm not assuming anything I'm just saying what needs to be said. Because of where the fans are located at in the bathroom area if you don't have them both on/or 1 on depending on the size of your bathroom you will see "mold" as you call it. In actuality it is mildew do to the ventilation. When you take a shower moisture builds up on the ceiling and the walls right? The simplest thing to do is turn the fan on or better yet.....get some x-14 spray it after you take a shower and you will not see any MILDEW. And if you were tied to the place for that amount of time and allowed it to continue to happen then that is on you don't blame the complex. Again I will say if I had "mold" I wouldn't have been paying my rent it would have went to escrow until it was fixed.

I lived there from the late 80's to early 90's, the place took a dump in the 90's...when they let all the college aged kids rent. I had a maintenance guy come in with a lit cigarette one time....priceless! Here is am easy solution..RENT TO COLLEGE AGED KIDS ONLY OR IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO LIVE HERE, SWING BY THE PLACE ON THE WEEKEND DURING THE SEMESTER...YOU'LL THINK TWICE ABOUT LIVEING HERE!
