used to be nice

Years at this apartment: 1997 - 2004
I have lived at Courthouse Square since 1997, there have been many changes in the last year that have made me very unhappy. There was a management change about 1 year ago, the changes are not for the better. The old manager was available whenever you needed her and really cared about the residents and the apartments. The new management makes it very difficult to talk to them and is very indifferent to the residents needs and concerns. My neighbors and I have complained about different problems, abandoned cars, dead trees etc, but nothing is ever done. Most of the time I have to call 2 or 3 times to have my maitenance problems fixed correctly. One of my senior citizen neighbors has an extremely loose railing on her 3rd floor balcony, she was told by the office, "I'm sure you can use the balcony and not touch the railing." I have had mice for about 2 years, I have been given trap after trap, one neighbor got a cat to help, I'm allergic, so I guess I'll just continue to have mice. I'm sure Courthouse Square has spent more giving traps to everyone than it would have cost to get rid of them to begin with. I think the worst thing that has been done is to remove SOME of the benches throughout the place. There are about 15 senior citizen that sit together in front of their building when the weather is nice. Management said that it did not give a good impression, having the people hang out in front of the building, so the benches were removed. In spite of this the residents now bring their own chairs to gather and create a neighborhood each evening. One of the reasons I moved here was because of the sence of community that WAS part of Courthouse Square, you used to be able to plant flowers, a nice thing for people who had lived in a home and needed to adapt to apartment living. That practice was also ended. However, pets have been allowed adding a new fragrance and hazard to the lawns, pet feces. While reading the newest favorable entries on this site, I noticed that there is a email address with the same name as an office employee at Courthouse Square. I looked at some of the other entries and found 1 or 2 other ones also from him. Favorable of course!
Also about 2 or 3 months ago there was a fatal accident at the Hillen road entrance, the brick wall is still in the condition from the accident. The damaged wall is a constant reminder to everyone of the tragedy. I think this disregard of kindness and compassion is a perfect example of the problems at Courthouse Square.
