Started out fine, but went downhill

In general, I like living here. It has its problems, but so do all apartment communities. Also, since this community is larger than most in the Baltimore/Towson area, it's no surprise that there are a lot more unhappy people than in other communities.
Pros:
-Convenient to a lot of places and amenities (695 is 5 minutes away, downtown Towson is 5 minutes away, and there's a shopping center across the street with a Superfresh, Target, Walmart, and PetSmart)
-Very pet-friendly--everyone has a dog, and there's even a (albeit small) dog park
-Average prices (I have friends in Valley View who pay $1300 for a one-bedroom--yikes!)
-Fairly clean, safe neighborhood
-Ample parking, as long as you get home before 9:00 PM on the weekdays
-Extra storage, trash, and laundry facilities accessible to each building--you don't have to go outside
-Most neighbors are very friendly
Cons:
-Management sends LOTS of naggy notices about everything from what you can put on your balcony to walking softly (!). However, nothing is every enforced.
-Floors are creaky, so the upstairs neighbors may wake you up at night
-Maintenance is not willing to fix anything more complicated than a clogged sink (our 2nd toilet has been broken for the past year; they won't fix it)
-Cheap appliances, doorknobs, etc.
-Parking is hard to find after 9:00 PM or so
To sum up, yes, there are problems. However, it's fairly convenient, quiet, and safe. Many tenants have been here for five years or more. I don't plan to stay here forever, but I'm comfortable for now.
Edited 11/16/07: By the way, I'm not a staff member (if I was, why would I mention ANY cons'). I just think people have a tendency to see things in black and white ("OMG THIS PLACE IS AWFUL" or "OMG THIS PLACE IS AWESOME") when in reality, most apartments are somewhere in between. I've rented from many apartment complexes in the Baltimore area, and Courthouse Square has been the best value for my money. It may depend on which specific unit you get, but mine is fine. I don't see why an honest review would provoke multiple accusatory and negative responses...
Edited 01/14/09: I made this review a year ago. I just moved out, and I am so happy to be away from this place. Management has really gone downhill, and they do not care about maintaining the property. My apartment had problems with flooding in the past year, and maintenance was unable to fix it. This lead to MOLD in my closets and bathroom! I even had mushrooms! At least they let me out of the lease with no problems, but I wish they'd treated it as a serious issue. Mold is nothing to screw around with--it can be very dangerous!

Of course this person is no doubt a staff member, who in the real world puts pros and cons but a sales person..... people please!!! Do not move here; most of the unpleasant comments are absolutely correct. After forking out your deposit you will never see it again; they will con you out of your cash! and there is nothing you can do but hire an attorney pay a little more cash for that and fight in court. And yes the mice are every where, if you ask about it they will redirect your questions regarding mice attempting to use the jedi mind trick on you, but don't fall for that, BE VERY AWARE!! You are dealing with licensed professional scam artist here! The parking will never work, yes these apartments are huge, however they were built before people had cars and forget it if three or more people drive or have more than two vehicles, you are done! They give you a parking permit to park anywhere you want, but if you're having company? well your visitors are really out of luck; they might as well park near the inner harbour and catch a cab to you because that is where they will find parking, and since this place is so unsafe now! tell them to carry a gun, a girl was beaten and raped, the manager and her crew covered it all up and told the community nothing at all, we found out from the 75 police who surrounded the entire community and stopped each and every car that came in and left out for days, asking if we knew the victim or who she lived with or who visited her. It's really scary being a female and living alone; especially because the victim lived on an upper or mid level apartment and her attacker climbed up in the window, which probably was easy for him since the windows and the french doors are sooo old. Just be careful and check around before you make your final decision to live in this place.

I agree with some of your pros but I think that the cons COMPLETELY outweigh the pros. Pet friendly, yes. But those with pets are definitely not friendly to those without, as evidenced by the dog feces that remain on the grounds with no one to pick them up. By the way, how many times have you guys almost slipped and fell on the sidewalk because of all the acorns that the mass amounts of squirrels drop onto the ground that the groundskeepers fail to sweep away?
The management will give out parking passes like candy but have no answers to solve the parking problems throughout the complex. Well, besides towing cars that actually do have parking permits.
