Really annoying?

I can completely relate with the other poster who felt picked on because they were a college student. Neighbors/the leasing office (') assumed that my roommate and I were friends with the college students downstairs. Whenever they were slightly loud we would have a complaint put in against us. Noise complaints were even issued against us when we were away on vacation. It's been very frustrating. I don?t mind having a record as a bad renter if I've done something to deserve it, but knowing that I've done nothing and having a bad reputation regardless makes me really angry. Soundproofing is non-existent. If your neighbor's phone rings, it sounds like your phone is ringing. During the winter I has the pleasure to see mice running across my bedroom floor. Everything in the apartment is the cheapest quality possible and breaks. The rooms are large though, I'll give them that. Matinence always showed up quickly and did their job well. Overall, I'd say if you're under 35 and/or have friends, don't bother because once you move out others may not trust you to rent from them.
