Poor Value

This is by far the worst place that I have ever lived. It is a poor value; it is too expensive for the little benefits it provides. After our first lease, our rent went up $60 a month plus we had to pay for water/sewage, which is an additional $20 a month. We have received an offer to renew this lease (our second) for an additional $21 a month. During our two years here, we have seen a neighbor who had lived here for over ten years leave. Another couple (elderly) also moved out.
The only thing that this place has in its favor is the proximity to Towson University and the major highways. During the semester breaks (for Towson University), this is a great place: quiet and clean. While the college is in session, this place is awful.
Parking can be troublesome, particularly when it snows. We have had our cars hit SEVERAL times parked outside of our apartment.
The walls/floors/ceilings are thin and sound travels right through. Add to that students who have parties, noise can be very bothersome.
The grounds of the "community" are commonly littered with remnants from parties: beer cans, cups, cigarette butts.
Our apartment has cracks running across the ceilings. The bathrooms and kitchens are extremely outdated. These buildings must have been built in the late 50s or early 60s and they have not been renovated since.
In two situations (a broken main door and a broken dishwasher), I have had to call for maintenance THREE times in order to have them corrected properly.
If you are a college student, who does not care about the appearance, noise levels, or cost (thanks mom & dad!), this is your place! Otherwise, run! Run as fast you can!
