Please Lower your Expectations if you Consider this "Luxury"!

The only aspect of "Luxury" is the $$$. "Raise the $$$ and they will come..."Everyone wants to opportunity to live in an "exclusive" community...$$$ does not equate quality in this neighborhood.
Well this is my 3 year here and I was pretty secure with the neighborhood until recently. Maintenance could definitely be an issue and the never ending VM prompt you must listen to contact office staff could leave you drowning in your "overflowing toilet". The parking requires you to be very time savvy because everyone has multiple cars (Duhhh the rent is like 1300 you have to at least have two FT workers to make rent)! However recently, there has been a new "crop" of tenants who are decreasing the tranquility in the neighborhood from: nosily inappropriate teenage conversations at 11pm outside your window, to continuous sounds of car alarm systems being activated, to being shaken out of your bed from the bass of car radio systems, to loitering to the point that YOU must say excuse me to enter YOUR bldg, to group fights occurring right outside your window (at which the police are called but the Fire Dept shows up an hour later (AND THIS IS UPPER MARLBORO - WHERE THE JAIL AND COURTHOUSES ARE LOCATED! The pool only goes to 4ft and the 24-hr exercise room that required at $25 deposit for an "after hour" access key is closed at the end of the rental office work day (even if they close early which occurs frequently) because they are unable to implement a program to deter rambunctious and unsupervised youth from running rapid! Hey, I'm still here because I cant afford a house in the area (higher mortgage than rent)! Teenagers are in actually (18-23) who are unemployed and unmotivated but remain at home - community centered act ivies for youth are not $$$$ friendly or convenient, so I guess parents figure there's not much they can do (can't reduce work hours to place youth in summer programs or transport them to summer employment) and dont forget you must have reliable transportation and a lot of GAS money budgeted into your scheme if you plan on doing anything other than going to the grocery store - because you still have to make rent - I guess you cant even suggest making those "adult children" who reside in your house work and figure out their commute independently (because they are only "adults" when they are verbally disrespecting you in the middle of the parking lot)!!! Luxury...No Way...Why' Because you have a dishwasher and antiquated dorm sized washer and drier' I figured maybe it would be better at another area of the complex but these recent (last 6-8 mo.) "issues" have engulfed everything! With the summer coming....I just dont know! I would definitely suggest a drive through at night amongst other times of the day to evaluate if this complex suits you....Otherwise your just paying more $$ for a "more prestigious" area with the same issues found in the majority of PG County...and from what I recently witnessed DC too! I'm just saying its only a matter of time before this problem escalates into a "news worthy" situation (since the only means to remedy the issue has been fliers placed in door knockers)!

I was just there on 04/11, however the rental office was closed for lunch. I drove around the grounds and was not impressed. My son wants me to move from my neighborhood because of the crime and suggested this place. THANKS FOR YOUR REVIEW, I appreciate it.

I have been looking for an apartment in P.G. County so I can be closer to my job. My boyfriend told me I need to move in closer because I'm always tired from my 2 hour drive (one way) to work. So I begain to entertain the thought. As I begain my search, someone told me about The Woods of Marlton. Well I must say that was a short search. My boyfriend was like NO WAY. Anytime a man will tell you NO to living in an area YOU BETTER LISTEN. And I'm a mother of one (1) so safety comes first. I still went to visit the property. The unit I was showen was very clean however the person that lived there perviously had an alarm system placed in the apartment. That alone caused my brow to raise. Others that I've spoken with about the propery didn't have anything good to say about the propery either. Basily, everything you have said others had the same to say and then more. You're right, you pay all this money and you have to deal the all children hanging out on the propery and being volger. Where are the parents and do they even care? What is the deal with P.G.County? Thank you for you information. It really means more coming from someone who is actully living there and going through it all. Again, thank you and my searh continues. From: My search continues.

I live in the Marlton Community. I reside in a single family home. I have to say that the statements that you make are very accurate. The residents in the apartment community and the townhomes allow their grown children to litter, use vulgar language and loiter. When I come home from work I pass the apartment complex, and swear I am approaching a housing authority complex in DC! It is unfortunate that people do not take pride in where the live. As a homeowner in Marlton, I get tired of picking up beer bottles, Mcdonalds wrappers, and others people's filth out of my front yard. I am sure that Marlton will continue to go down if the Woods of Marlton continue to allow INCOME SENSITIVE HOUSING!

I moved into WOM 4/2006, and I have seen a decline in the neighborhood However to the single family home owner-I find what you say is extremely offensive & rude. You THINK due to WOM allowing INCOME SENSITIVE HOUSING brings these problems? You are being very judgmental and ignorant I am a mother of twins in college and I fall under the income sensitive housing category, and I don't do any of the things mentioned. Just because you don't make a lot of money does not mean you litter, allow your children to use vulgar language or loiter, my car also has been broken into amongst other outrageous things that happens @ WOM. It is unfortunate that people can be as ignorant as you just were with that post. I too get tired of all the noise, loiter and everything else, your income does not determine your class-and that is obvious "HOMEOWNER".

I am an Income Sensitive Renter and will be moving in a few months mainly because of the kids hanging outside, being loud and music playing loudly than ever! What can't management call a community meeting and let those of us who really cares about the neighborhood voice our concerns to the parents of these rude kids?! Also, I don't agree with the homeowner, because I am a full-time college student, work for the Federal Govt., part-time, and have a little daughter in the 2nd grade, and I can't even walk to my door without encountering rude kids cursing in front of my daughter! I work very hard and deserve to come home to peace and quiet! So, don't assume that all income sensitive renters are dumb, lazy or just don't care!I AM MOVING VERY SOON!!!! And many of you should too!
