Cool at first, then went sour . . .

I lived in Holly Station for about 7 years, until I bought a house in 2001.
The first 5 years were great, the neighborhood was very quiet, well kept and safe.
As the tenant turnaround increased, there were always lots of kids around, riding their bikes on the sidewalk and in the parking spaces while youre trying to park.
Parking was sometimes an issue too as tenants with more than one vehicle felt that they, as well as their guests, had to park in front of their houses and did not have any consideration for other tenants.
One night as I was about to turn onto my street, someone threw a beer bottle and shattered my windshield.
After that I no longer felt safe and began looking elsewhere.
Maintenance for the most part was fine, although there were at least 2 times it took 2-3 phone calls to get something fixed.
Overall, I think the rent increases were quite high, and they need to make significant improvements to the units before they can justify those increases.
I requested new carpet and paint one year before I renewed my lease, and got it, so the staff was very helpful in that regard.
I would recommend this area for short term living only.
