Middlebrook Garden Apartments & Townhomes

Nice, affordable place to live From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 7/18/2008 Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008   My girlfriend and I have lived in MiddleBrook for almost a year and a half now. We have a 1 bedroom, second-level apartment with a nice balcony overlooking a nice grassy hill and some houses. The apartment is older but modern enough for us. There was a new bathroom vanity and tile floor put in before we moved in. The refrigerator, stove, oven and dishwasher are all adequete and work well. Cabinets are ok as are the countertops. Plumbing all works fine. Heat is great! (natural gas heat in the winter = instant warmth) One issue that I notice is the A/C. It's an old unit mounted on the side of the building outside our bedroom. It can be loud for the first few seconds when turning on in the middle of the night. (woke me up a few times). It also needed to be recharged with refrigerant last august and this spring. Luckly our aparment isn't too large so the fact that the A/C isn't the 'best a/c system ever' doesnt really make a huge difference. I've also noticed that the maitenance (not the on call maitenance, they're great!) thats been done on the apartment could be better. Windows are not really sealed properly, tile floor has one tile that isn't level, light switches are painted over. This is not a direct reflection on the management as i'm sure they hire contractors to do apartment-wide maitenance every few years but the management could probably check up and make sure the work is quality. On call maitenance is great! Called about a leaky tub faucet and it was replaced the same day. Called about A/C needing to be recharged, fixed the same day or the next day. Nice landscaping. Grass is always cut, sidewalks always clean (even in winter). Plenty of parking. Adequete lighting at night. Nice location!
