NEVER Rent from Southfield!

Don't bother even looking at Southfield. They are deceptive and they don't care about their tenants. My vehicle was broken into twice within the last 3 months of living there. No one at the office cared or bothered to do anything about this. On top of it all, when I let them know that we were not renewing our lease, no one bothered to inform us that we had not given them the proper amount of time. In fact, the people at the rental office specifically told me that the timing wasn't a problem. I then recieved a BILL for over $200.00 and we're not getting our security deposit back.

Although a bit harsh,I agree with the post by cpviolet. An apartment manager is not responsible for your car just as a store manager would not be if your car were broken into while you were shopping in their store. Also,I am sure the lease indicated the amount of notice required.

This was par for the course at Southfield. When we signed our lease, we were told that we qualified for a special offer worth two months free rent. When we moved in, we were told we would only be receiving one month free rent. On several occasions, we were billed for late rent eventhough we had paid our rent on time. They constantly lost important paperwork, including our lease extension which we signed in their office and were later accused of not filing on time.

sometimes i cant believe reviews like this. im not a resident here. i actually work for another complex for another company and i cant believe sometimes what people like you write. do you expect sometone to take you by the hand your whole life? YOUR car was broken into. so what? mine was before. if you were at a house would you expect the home owners association to do someething about it? no. you deal with it yorself. what could the office do? guard your car at night? sure cameras help. they'll had cameras and raise the rent to pay for them, then people like you ----- b/c the rent went up. be a man and deal with it.
