We were very happy with Southfield while we were living here, but after we moved out they charged us for needing the carpet replaced due to pet odor. We had only had a dog for 3 months and he never had an accident in the apartment. A few weeks before we were supposed to move out we noticed there was water damage on the carpet and mold growing. We contacted maintenance and they came and pulled up the carpet and semi-cleaned it. But there was still mold growing. Since we were moving we were not really worried about it. Well they used that we had a dog to charge us for the damage to the carpet. The smell was mold not dog odor, and conveniently all of their records indicate that we called in a leaking air conditioner not damage on the carpet. We definitely should have pursued things differently while we were there, but we assumed that they would act appropriately. Don't waste your money with this deceitful company.
