Since the new management company took over I've asked for a copy of my lease 3 times and still don't have it. One thing I've discovered is if you want to get out of your lease early it's going to cost you 2 months rent and you have to clean the carpet and plug the picture holes in the walls before you leave. I don't understand the carpet cleaning because they're going to replace it. Plug the picture holes' I've never heard of such a thing. Pay 2 months rent with a 60 day notice' I think its an awful way to do business.

The rent has skyrocketed and people are not aware that the average furniture won't fit, especially when it comes to trying to get your bedroom furniture up the steps. I've seen people come and go because of it; one year later and they're gone. I've heard they still have mice but I don't have that problem. I love the area and I haven't had problems with unruly neighbors but now that I'm ready to leave (after 6 years), I've discovered that they've made it difficult.

I advise you to move here only if you plan on purchasing furniture once you move in and if you have anything larger than a queen size bed it won't fit up the staircase. Although they have a washer/dryer, 1.2 bathrooms and a dishwasher in each unit, the units are very small. You can rent an apartment with more space and pay a lot less.

You have to keep everything in its place or you will be stepping over it. Do a walk through and keep this in mind. Good Luck!

Your complaints are absolutely ridicolous. First of all...it is completely normal to have to plug up any holes you make in the walls...why should someone else do it?? You live there. You create holes that are not suppose to be there. Sounds simple enough. Yes, you should clean your carpets, and no, they are not replaced after every resident. The carpets are inspected, and if a clean is all it needs, then they will clean it. It seems like you are probably a dirty person if you expect people to spackle holes for you and clean up a carpet YOU made stains on...
Secondly, the purpose of a lease is NOT so you can get out of it. 60 days notice and one or 2 month buy out is very reasonable. YOU ARE BREAKING A LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT BETWEEN TWO PARTIES. There are consequences my dear. A company essentially loses money they thought they would have by you not completing the terms of your lease. If you could just "break a lease" without paying, then what is the point of a contract?
Lets see...you complain about not being able to get a bed up the stairs...well I did it. Its hard. Hire help. You live in a world with other people, its not just you. You signed a contract, abide to it, or pay up!
