I moved into Rockdale Gardens happy by that being my new and first apt rental property. Little did I know through the smiling staff the real truth that awaited me. I stayed there for two years. During the first year everything was fine until that November, I call myself paying ahead of the time and decided to send my rent in on the 25th of the month because I had the money and decided to be ahead of the game. My rental money order was lost and was received by the company on the 6th of the month. I was charged a late fee, and when I explained to the company that I sent it on that date they accused me of lying. I paid with a money order and had the money order receipt which proved my date and they accused me of holding onto the money order until the last minute. The matienance that is supposidly included in your rent was crappy. My air conditioner broke 7 times during the summer and by me living on the top floor my apt would range from 80 to 90 degrees. When I called the office they would continually tell me that someone was coming to fix it and when I did get home there would be a tag on my door nob saying someone was there but it would be hot as heck in my apt so that didnt prove a thing. Once the matinance staff came while I was at home and he had to come back 3 times because the air would work for a few minutes and then cut right back off. When he came back the 7th time he realized that the motor was broke and needed to be replaced. The people underneath me moved and once that happened I inherited a little friend. A MOUSE!! I am a very clean person, and have always kept a clean house. When I told the rental office of what happened they advised me that it was common for mice to appear once someone moves out and that he should be gone in a few because they are laying poison down. Of course that didnt happen. When it came time to renew my lease I let them know they can keep the apt and the mice and I moved!
