Expensive rent, heat & water leaks, amplified street noise, no freight elevator, some views

Apartment rents are expensive and all utilities are electric. Heat and A/C is provided by multiple, old, inefficient, through-the-wall heat exchange units. Electrical utilities are expensive all year but partial rebates for sums greater than $250 are available for Dec, Jan, Feb, & Mar. Apartment floor plans are interesting if not always useful. Many inefficient metal-frame windows but few desirable views. Much street noise amplified by canyon effect between buildings. BBT has 16 stories with only 2 passenger elevators and no freight elevator for moves ins/outs. Only one elevator is available for passengers when moves occur. Fire escapes often end on another floor with no directions provided or end at a locked door. Corridors and doorways are wide (handicapped access good) but monthly levies for corridor utilities & trash removal are expensive add-ons. Apartment doors are often at least cosmetically damaged with useless dead bolt locks. Kitchens may be old and appliances are inefficient and need replacement. Wall-to-wall carpets in apartments maybe dirty and need replacement. Unusable roof-top garden with tall, uninspired sculpture of rusting iron. Coin-operated laundry off lobby but cloths may be stolen or damaged. Minimal exercise room off lobby with warm, shallow pool.

This review is outrageous, untruthful and obviously written by a party with a vendetta - any resident can tell you the living at BBT is one of the finest urban experiences one can have. We've been here more than 4 years and have made a lovely, comfortable home - enjoying the sweet moments of apt. life - indoor parking, on site laundry, a lap pool and marvelous exercise room - full time maintenance plus considerate, friendly and evenly dispensed management on a daily basis.

I agree with Jerome80 100%. I've lived here for two years and never had problems. The add on utilities expense is annoying, but sometimes things just are the way they are. This is the only apartment I have ever been permitted to paint and make feel like my own. The pool and fitness center are more than what anyone would have in their own home, and this is a home- not Planet Fitness. I have had appliances and leaky faucets fixed within a day of my reporting them. As for the laundry, Anonymous should be accurate at least- it is not "coin-op" it is run by a re-loadable card and there is a security camera in the room. It sounds like overall a lot of the complainers issues were ones that were never voiced to someone who could address them in the first place. If you don't speak up or ask questions you cannot expect a manager to take care of you.

I agree with 2 comments. Have lived here 8 mos. & love it. It's not perfect but nothing is. We're on Bay side & sunsets are absolutely gorgeous. Management is extremely helpful & friendly. Maintenence is pretty good considering there are only 2 guys doing it. I don't know if noise is a problem in other apts but this is quietest place I've ever lived. I heard more noise in our house. Can't even hear the LR TV in the apt. Only noise I hear from st is sirens & not that often. Love the place, hope to stay here a long time.
