I recently visited the Junipers after seeing an add on crigslsit. However, after getting there, the low rent advertized was not available, so they showed me other "more expensive units" of the same size. Then I was told that they would charge me 75.00 a month to have my 8 pound dog live with me!! They advertized they accepted pets, but left this part out! I expected a reasonable pet deposit, but 75.00 a month, non refundable! Then i was told they charge a "recreation fee of 100.00 a year to use the outdoor pool and basket ball courts. What!! I figured that is why they are priced over market to begin with, now I have to pay a membership to use the pool! Also, that 30$ flat rate heat inccluded is a bunch of bull. You get a monthly bill anywhere from 15-40 dollars for your trash, water and sewer! Yes, you pay the same to throw your bag of trash in the dumpster as your neighbor with 5 kids! The place is priced like high end units, but looks like public housing , and due to the rapid turnover in the units, the city code enforcement has a record of a bed bug outbreak in 2006. That is a very hard infestation to get rid of! Even replacing carpets is not enough, they keep coming back! Do not rent from Equity residential! After all of their fees and rules, you can rent a high end apt for the same and not look like you live in the local public housing sector!!

I have previously rented at The Junipers and found it a very nice place to live. They had a variety of floorplans and were very accommodating. As far as pet fees, there is a monthly pet fee but for a dog 8lbs it was only $50 a month and the recreation fee was $100 for entire time you live there. And they have alot of amenties which saved me on having to buy a gym membership. The flat fee of $30 for heat is awesome compared to the almost $200 I pay now and the additional fees with the heat never were more then $50 a month. To me it was a steal. As far as the bed bugs, I checked with code enforcement due to being concerned because I lived there is 2006 and they had no such record. The staff at the Junipers is doing a great job!

Boy you hit it right on the head. Bed bugs that is good to know along with backed up plumbing with feces in the tub and being told by the maitenance that it is not an emergency.

Oh, and a warning if anyone gets behind on their rent. You'll get a threatening legal notice, then be told by someone in the office that it's no big deal and we'll work out a payment plan, and then you show up to court and get told there's also a $500 fee on top of all of this. Oh, you get to stay as long as you pay, but make sure you ask about the legal fee, because they might just forget to mention that little tidbit like they did to me.
