I did A LOT of research before coming to look at apartments in Ann Arbor. We've lived in apartments in 3 different cities in 8 years, so I've some experience! And it came down to this: Live in town, pay out the nose for rent, pet fees, and parking. Or find a place just outside of town/campus in the peace and quite, with free parking (unless you opt for a covered space)! Living in Ann Arbor Hills was the best solution for us!

Property Management and Mateniance are onsite- which I love. They are friendly and helpful. I never wait long to hear back from them.

Parking is easy. Believe me I do not miss street parking! There's always an open spot and everything is well lit.

Buses are close by. Three different routes are within walking distance.

New windows have been installed recently and our unit had new carpet. (Anyone else love new carpet smell')

The pet fee and rent are more than fair considering other places wanted twice as much (for a pet fee) or wanted a massive non-refundable deposit. Also, since my husband works for UM he got a discount on rent!

Thus far, we've not had any major issues or disapointments. It's nice to have a break from "urban/rustic charm" apartments and live in a place that's well maintained and not overpriced.

Lastly, I love the location. It's close to North Campus- where my hubby works. Close to LOADS of shops and restaurants (Walgreens and Whole Foods just across the street, very helpful!). And Gallup Park is just down the street. Personally, my favorite park in all of Ann Arbor.
