Nice but over priced.

I lived at Briar Cove for one year. Ill break down the experience.
Pros: The bedrooms are a good size. The master bedroom in the 2 bedroom with a den is large and has its own bathroom with shower (no tub). The location is good and there are many things to do in the area. It s close to the mall and downtown is only a few mins away when there is no traffic. The office will accept multiple payments so if you have a roommate you don t have to find them in order to create one check or money order. I also like the fact that you can rent out the club house if you want to have a gathering.

Nice website so you can put in request from home or work without having to make a call.

The office doesn t make a bunch of excuses in order to do checks of the apartment condition. They respect privacy. I also never heard one peep from my neighbors, not even a weekend radio jam.

The washer and dryer are a great plus. You may have to run the dryer twice in order to dry large loads. It s not pretty on the DTE bill though so I recommend hanging almost dry jeans.

There s a small window in the bathroom.

No bugs.

Cons: The traffic on game nights is out of control. The police always shut down the intersection right near the complex so it takes about 30 mins to go one block. That s not the fault of the complex but when you move there you may want to consider that if you work on Saturday.

There is never any parking! Sometimes you have to park across the street or wait in your car until someone leaves their apartment. During the winter the parking is even less because they NEVER clear the snow. If they do it s one line down the middle so the parking spaces always accumulate snow so by the end of the winter each spot looks like a mini snow fort. If you have a professional job you may want to wait in the winter and dress at work.

Yes, the highway noise is LOUD. Once I thought a tornado was coming but it was a semi truck on the express way. Lol

The AC didn t work for me all summer and it took multiple calls to the office. The heat would go all into the hall with the vaulted ceiling. The wood fireplace also lets in a lot of cold air even when closed properly.

The patio or deck is scary. I lived on the upper floor and I was afraid to step on the thing. It s in bad shape. The complex should invest in new ones because Ann Arborins love to sit out in the summers.

I would move back if the rent was cheaper by a lot. I would also make sure not to get a second floor apartment and buy a pair of good snow boots.
