Glencoe is pretty nice, I don't have any major complaints about it. I live with a roommate in a 2 bedroom. We live in the back area so it's pretty quiet. I'm not sure what the apartments near the playground or Washentenaw road are like with the noise.
The apartment itself is big and spacious in my opinion. The master bedroom is frickin huge and has two closets. I live in the smaller bedroom and it still has plenty of room to fit all my stuff and have a good amount of space left. We have the newer, lighter colored wood cabinets in ours. We've painted our walls, so you can do that, but you have to paint back over them when you leave. It's a nice layout all around.
Ok, you're really looking to hear about the gripes though. Here they are:
1. You have to get on management's butt to get things done. Call, call, call. We haven't had to call them a lot, but when we have we needed to keep harassing them.
2.Loud neighbors. Not all the time however, just the girls that live beneath us like to turn on the subwoofer. Keep in mind you'll get this no matter where you go though. I never hear any of the dogs in our building. They must be well behaved.
3.Bugs. Found a silverfish (I hate those things!) in the bathtub the other day and there were two bugs in our dishwasher. Management has had pest control come by many times so I think they riled them all up.
That's mainly it. The complaints aren't as bad as they sound. I feel very safe here (and I'm a wimpy female) and there's ample parking. Much better than living in the Eastern dorms let me tell you!!
