Cheap, but still not worth it

We chose this complex because the rent was low, but trust me, this is no bargain. These apartments are poor quality in every way. Everything is dirty, old, and rundown. The worst part in my opinion was the fact that the security door to the building was broken for the entire year - it would not shut all the way, so anybody could get into the building at all times. This was despite numerous complaints and requests for maintenance. The windows and doors are drafty, making it impossible to heat. We had insect problems, even though we were on the third floor. Our apartment was near the front of the complex, and the street noise was terrible. Snow was shoddily plow, making the parking lot treacherous in winter (seriously, we slid around a corner and damaged our car). The police were often "visiting" our neighbors across the hallway. You can hear and smell everything your neighbors are doing. In addition, the office staff is terrible. There were constant miscommunications and erroneous charges, which would take months to be taken care of.

I am a resident at Glencoe Hills. The apartment layout is nice and spacious. The front door to our building has also had many problems... but other than that the noise isn't too bad. My biggest complaint is with the office staff. Very rude and confused. I have had a few encounters with a woman named Chris, and with every encounter she always ends up speaking to me in a very demeaning way. I am not one to get upset or cause any extra drama, but for some reason she still has an attitude.
The other staff members aren't as bad, but they do all seem to be a bit confused about what's going on.
Communication is not their strong point at all!
