Don't Do It!

Glencoe Hills seems to be a nice apartment when you first move in. I will admit, it wasn't all bad. With a spacious 3 bedroom apartment, it was a good price for the square footage. Unfortunately, after a stolen car radio, multiple gun shots outside my window and a neighbor with pit bulls that are never on a leash, there may be a reason the rent is so much cheaper at Glencoe Hills. They tote a laundry room in your building but really it is just one washer and one dryer for 11 or 12 apartments. This can be a bit problematic. In my laundry room there was constantly random trash and food down there and at one point there was powder residue throughout the washer and dryer so they weren't even usable. Maintenance was a joke. I had problems with them answering the phone, and responding in a timely manner. During the winter as ice melted, there was a leak into my apartment. Maintenance actually came in a timely manner, but they didn't do anything. They told me to put a towel down to stop the leak and they would knock the ice off the roof. When I asked what could be done to prevent this from happening again, they looked at me like I was crazy and never did answer that question. I guess they don't believe in making actual repairs. Or even providing temporary fixes.

Besides personal things, one general comment is the large windows in the living room. They are patio style, but there is no balcony or patio. This window also causes a huge problem in the winter because it is single paned and lets a lot of air in causing the heat bill to rise astronomically. My room mate and I invested in space heaters that were more effective in heating our place than the apartment heating system.

All in all, I think there are much better values for your money in the Ann Arbor/Ypsi/Pittsfield area. BuLYzGcKAVo8MQPlcXJq
