Ann Arbor housing prices are simply out of control, but that is something not unique to this place (which I think should be cheaper). I have lived in a few apartments in the area, including Village Green (awful staff!) and Ironwood is actually the best.

The manager lady is really nice, although not around a lot, and does her best to keep people happy. The other people are pretty on top of things too, and they seem very genuine (not cheesy business-like). The buildings are newer, but nothing really merits the high rates, creeping up to NYC costs, in a small city like this.

Nevertheless, at this complex you see what you get, and they don't put on a show for you just so you'll move in. BEWARE of fancy showrooms at other places!! Their actual apartments are NOT like what you see! I know this from experience--old appliances, huge stains, the works. Demand to see a vacant unit at any place you are considering, if you can.

This place includes washer and dryer, which is not found in other places for free. Utilities are somewhat high, but not unreasonable. And any person with common sense will figure out that simply shutting the vents in the warmest room(s) will even out the temperatures in the whole apartment! I've had no trouble with my heat, and any problems I have had have been taken care of right away.

This place is NOT perfect, but there are some really terrible places in Ann Arbor parading around as luxury/etc, and then you move in to something quite different. At least here you don't get all the BS!
