At first glance, this place seemed like a steal-- reasonable rent, decent-sized units, buildings look nice on the outside. Upon moving in, it was clear this was just a facade. The carpet looked like it was left over from the cold war and was a truly disgusting sight. The walls were clearly paper thin, and led to heating bills well over $200 a month. Mind you, this was not from running the heat too high; on most cold mornings, the temperature *inside* our bedroom hovered in the low 50s. Our bathroom faucet froze on at least one occasion. Noise from neighbors could be heard constantly as well. If you're considering moving in here, keep in mind the added utility costs will be very, very high.

In 3 years of living here, the maximum my heating bill was $210 for 1 month mid-winter (after DTE increased heating prices last year), it is usually $150-$180 if you are sensible and keep the temp cooler when you are at work etc or asleep and higher when you are home in the evenings ... again no idea what apartment this person lives in, but isn't this bad for my roommate and I!

Well, I lived there for over 4 years and had problems with the heating bills the entire time. Sensible or not, the apartments are poorly insulated. The doors and windows are not sealed properly. Maintenance even tried to convince me that the temperature gauge provided with the apartment was not reading properly (53 degrees, by the way).
