Poor Maintence and Response

The apartments are nice and it is a nice location. The problem is with any kind of apartment maintenance request. For the simplest things to be fix takes extraordinary effort and time for management to do. 2 weeks for a broke blind to be replaced and the replacement was to short, the maintenance guy, Todd, didn't check it before leaving, it took another couple days to get that replaced. A broke kitchen drawer was replaced with the wrong parts and it took a month to get the correct ones. A dripping faucet needed to be fixed, the cold water knob was put in backwards and required another week to be fixed correctly. Garbage disposal blades were damaged and extremely dull, it took 4 visits, 3 back ups and several calls to get a replacement. The worst is the heating and cooling, 1 1/2 years of going around with management that the HVAC system was not working properly, I have lost track of how many calls and visits were made. I had to actually called the owners to get anything done. With current management, I would not recommend the place.

Lived here?

I currently live at Ironwood Place (I have been here for nearly 3 years) and this review is an exaggeration at least ... I have not had any problems with maintenance in the whole time I have lived here (that said, nothing major has NEEDED fixing either). Some people jump up and down for minor things (eg: a broken blind) - which I agree do require fixing - but not in 24 hours!! I would take this review with a grain of salt - sure I don't deny that management at Ironwood are very busy and overworked BUT the management staff are friendly and helpful, and if it was half as bad as this review makes out I would not still be living here. :)

I actually agree with much, but not all, of what the initial post writes. I lived at Ironwood Place for over 4 years. During that time I had to change apartments due to a mouse problem about which management seemed rather nonchalant. I complained repeatedly about the fact that the windows and doors were not sealed property against winter winds. My heating bill was astronomical. Furthermore, the person who rented by apartment prior to me had a cat that sprayed all over one of the bedrooms. Ironwood's solution was to pull up the carpeting, paint over the urine that had soaked into the floor boards, and shampoo the carpet in that room only. Needless to say, it didn't work. All of this was done in an effort to not replace the carpeting. Which, of course, was the end result. To add fuel to the fire, I was made responsible for moving all of the furniture for when the carpet was installed. Replacing the carpeting was something that should have been done prior to move-in. What a nightmare. I would not say that maintenace was bad, but rather inconsistent. Don't get me wrong the staff at Ironwood is warm and friendly and genuinely cares about the residents. However, for the rent charged for living there, residents expect a certain level of competence and response. And understandably so. Did I get irate for minor fixes? No. With all of this said, I still think that there are much worse places to live in the area.

I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with you on this one. I have lived in Ironwood Place for a year now, any time that we have had a maintance request, it has been taken care of the next day. Granted, it did not always fix the problem, but Todd would always be back immediately after we called to report that it was not fixed as we had expected. The only major problems that we had were with the HVAC, The insulation in these apartments is terrible and it requires a great effort by the heater to heat the apartment, then usually it's only the living room that gets warm. We had a problem with our heater where the heating element would be running however the heat would not be blowing into our apartment. We had the maintance guy over at least 20 times to fix this problem, until finally they called a professional heating and cooling company to come and fix it for good. Our heating bills were in excess of 250$ a month for a two bedroom apartment during the winter, even after we sealed the windows, balcony doors, and hung a blanket in front of the main door.
