Don't expect to get great service and you will never get fast service. As long as nothing needs repair though, you can expect a nice place. We have a 2 bedroom corner unit upstairs and pay somewhere in the $900's. Our building is in a very quiet area of the community and the only problems come from one dog that barks a lot when the owners are gone during the day and our neighbors below being a bit loud (mostly just a lot of door slamming). We do have busted appliances and they said they would be getting us new ones... two weeks ago. Overall we are happy with the balance in price and amenities though. The place is spacious, you are allowed to paint the walls, and it is very safe. The prices for apartments range a lot though for the same things. My advice would be to move in during the winter. The deals are A LOT better. You could save like $400 a month on rent if you start your lease from Dec-Feb. Parking can be a problem if you have guests. You only get one spot assigned and most people that live here have 2 cars so guest parking is taken by 6pm nightly. The dog park they have is only fenced on one side and since your near a freeway on-ramp, that is a big issue. Get an upper unit. You get a fireplace and cathedral ceilings that really make the place feel bigger and more open. The place is great for roomies because the bedrooms and bathrooms are on opposite ends of the unit with the kitchen, dining area, and living room in the middle. The heat never seems to reach the master bedroom and you can feel the difference in temp immediatley when you walk in there. the extra storage room in the upper units is very nice. A 5'x10' room with a lock on you balcony to store luggage, boxes, etc. The windows are newer and nicer then my last place. Lots of greenery surrounds the area. Near a lot of good shopping too. Whole Foods, Meijer, Target, Petsmart, REI, and the downtown are very close by. Overall not bad but not great. I wouldn't ever use the word "luxury" but I don't regret moving in.
