Mostly happy at Meadowbrook Village

I've been living at Meadowbrook Village for a little over a year. Here are the pros/cons, in my opinion:
PROS
-cute apt. & floorplan
-gorgeous updated kitchen and bath cabinets (dark wood, like maple)
-washer/dryer in my apt.
-nice to have a dishwasher
-small patio, and gas grill allowed
-Maintenance staff is friendly and seems very competent; they are always prompt with repairs.
-office staff very friendly
-I haven't had any major problems with the "free" Internet. (Free' Well, with the rent they charge, I hardly think it's free.) When I have had small problems, I called the help-line and the problem was quickly resolved.
-they allow dogs (the office even hosted pet party at the end of the summer)
-always extra parking available for guests
-great location
-very friendly neighbors; it actually feels like a little neighborhood, and I LOVE that! :-)
CONS
-rent increased rapidly
-Management didn't tell me how they divide the water/sewer/trash for billing. Essentially, they divide the total bill for a block of buildings by the number of adult tenants. What this means is that I pay as much for water as the family with two small children. (And as much as I love kids, I don't want to have to pay for the water/sewer/trash related to caring for those kids, washing them, washing their clothes, etc.)
-Pet deposit is hefty ($250) and then an extra $25 per month. For what' I don't know. I pick up my dog's messes and don't receive any pet service from the complex.
-Thin walls: I hear clearly the phone conversations my neighbor has. Also, if he has his TV on at night, it's like it's in my room.
-AC and heat do not maintain consistent temperature throughout the apt. Bedroom is freezing, but living room is too warm. Also, during the winter, cold air flows in from under the kitchen floor cabinets. I keep my heat no higher than 68 and my heating bill is about $150 in the winter.
-inadequate outdoor lighting. Some areas are fine, but in others, I have to go a distance in total darkness along the walking path when I'm walking my dog. They definitely need more lighting along the outer path.
