Loved it! Would've stayed longer if we had not bought a house!

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2009

We absolutely enjoyed living at Meadowbrook Village for 3 years with our dog. It was much more like a neighborhood than an apartment complex. We had an end unit that had an upgraded kitchen. One year as a "thank you" for renewing our lease, we got to pick a color for an accent wall in the living room (which the maintenance dept painted for us while we were out of town). We really felt that the apartment was more like a townhome, especially when we were given the chance to personalize it like that.

The pool area is fantastic in the summer - ample seating and tables. The pool was always sparkling clean and the bathrooms were clean as well. We also enjoyed the tennis courts and used the workout room all the time.

In the apt, there was a ton of storage space and the walk-in closet in the master bedroom was HUGE! Having a washer/dryer in the apt was a big bonus, as well. The apt itself was very spacious (approx 1100 square feet) really felt like a home. We loved taking our dog for walks around the complex and to the dog park. We also liked how the complex is connected to other subdivisions, since we are runners. Meadowbrook Village is in a GREAT location if you like to run!

We ended up deciding to purchase a home, since we are planning on having kids and wanted a yard for our dog. The staff worked with us to allow us to have a month-to-month lease, which was only $100 more per month. After 10 months of looking, we found the perfect house and gave our 30 days notice. However, the seller tried to back out of the deal after our mortgage approval took longer than expected. We were supposed to be out of our apartment in 1.5 weeks at that point - I called Meadowbrook and explained the situation. The staff was extremely understanding and cooperative. They agreed to not rent our apartment for the next 1.5 weeks until we had a resolution, and agreed to let us return to renting on a month-to-month basis if the house deal fell through. Luckily, we got our mortgage approval, closed on our house and were able to move out on time, but the staff at Meadowbrook made the waiting period much more bearable (knowing we wouldn't be homeless if the deal fell through was priceless!!).

I cannot say enough positive comments about Meadowbrook Village. I have recommended it to all friends looking for an apartment in Ann Arbor! We give it our highest recommendation.
