Cooperative living - Need to keep that in mind when you move here

Not many people understand what it is to live in a Cooperative. But cooperation is the key to success here.
The community is run by members. Every October there are elections for the board. If you think your family is complex, try getting 129 units to agree on something. This is why you need to TALK to your elected board members. They want your input and need to know your point of view so they can govern on your behalf.
Recently the Cooperative refinanced and the roofs are being replaced, siding is being repaired and painted, even the parking lots and drive are being redone.
Since it's a housing cooperative a large portion of units are Section 8 and they run what is called Section 236, a reduced market rate. A four bedroom townhouse for $709 in ANN ARBOR, MI is unheard of!
The families are multi-cultural and it is a microcosm in Ann Arbor. Several bus lines run by the complex.
Only drawback is that when it was built in the early 70's, there were not so many cars per family. Only one designated parking spot, then a scramble for the second car in a visitor spot.
