The best property I've rented from

Having lived in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti for the last 14 years, I've rented a lot of apartments. I've had good experiences, and awful ones also. But, out of all of them, The Ponds is the best of the lot. The rooms are spacious for the rent I pay (including 2 full bathrooms), the fixtures and appliances are in good shape, and the location is excellent (a couple of minutes from I-94, across the street from a small Kroger, biking distance from downtown AA). The management is very easy to deal with as well, as they are friendly and keep good track of rent payments and maintenance requests. Speaking of maintenance, they're great too - they typically arrive within 24 hours of submitting the request, and take care of the problem in one visit. Within the first few months of moving here, they replaced our (leaky-tanked) toilet and worn-out washing machine without us having to ask. The rent's a little higher than we'd like, but still very reasonable for AA, especially considering the square footage we have, and the location.
Naturally, there are a few downsides. The complex seems to be prone to power outages, although it hasn't happened recently (knock on wood), and is usually fixed within 24 hours. Parking directly in front of our building is sometimes hard to come by. And finally, the ceiling is a little thin, as we can hear our upstairs neighbors stomping around and arguing at night. But otherwise, I love it here.
