Apt. not bad -- Management terrible!

Overall, we are reasonably happy with the apt. itself, although we think we are paying a bit too much for what we are getting. They do make repairs in a reasonable amount of time.
I also dispute the legality of suddenly charging existing tenants for water, when what we agreed to in the lease was that the landlord would pay for water. There are many current tenants pursuing this through the legal system.
The new management staff is down right rude! I have had to deal with them on a number of occasions for reasonable requests. They lack basic courtesy, have even been threatening. Such as, they failed to process a check that was sent by certified mail (on time) and then tried to charge me a late fee. I had a certified mail receipt to prove this. When I disputed this they said that in order to ensure that they processed it on time (not just received it on time, which is of course the only thing I have control of) I should send my rent payment in at least 15 days early and that they are not accountable. I did once send the rent in 2 days late and was not only charged $50 (which I agree to, it was late), but also sent me an eviction notice. For being 2 days late!
